PROCEDURAL STEPS
Dr. Adan will access the areas that require rejuvenation and develop an individualized treatment plan which could include chemical peels, laser resurfacing, and skin care products (Image Skin Care International, Inc). Depending on the patient’s desires, the area will be cleansed and a topical numbing cream or local anesthetic will reduce discomfort. In some cases, the filler itself may have a numbing agent within it. Injectable fillers are most commonly applied to the lips, around the mouth, nasolabial folds, and/or between the eyebrows but also can be used to fill any line or wrinkle, even in the hands.
Nearly pain-free, each injection only takes a few seconds and only a few minutes for the entire process to be completed. In areas with deeper depressions, such as scars, wrinkles, and/or creases, more injections and treatment sessions may be required. After the injections are completed, each site will be cleansed again and ice with pressure is applied to redness, bruising, and swelling.
THE RESULTS
Results will be immediately noticeable. Bruising and swelling may be present on the areas of injection for a matter of hours or a few days following the procedure. The face may appear fuller than normal but will reside to a smoother, youthful appearance in a short period of time. Should you choose fat injections, the aftereffects may persist for a few weeks after the procedure.
